1. Agreement
MotifMix (the “App” or “Service”) is provided by the independent developer of MotifMix, based in Poland (“MotifMix”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By installing, accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
If you use the App for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. The service
MotifMix helps arrange eligible raster images into repeatable layouts and insert the result into a Canva design as editable elements. Available controls may include motif size, frequency, rotation, flips, spacing, density and seam direction.
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the App for personal or commercial design work in accordance with these terms and all applicable laws. This right does not grant access to our source code, infrastructure or service credentials.
3. Your content and designs
You retain all rights you already hold in the images, designs and other material you use with MotifMix (“User Content”). You grant us only the limited permission needed to process User Content and related technical data to operate, secure and support the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions required to use each image or Canva asset and to create, publish, sell or otherwise use the resulting design. MotifMix does not grant additional rights to Canva content or third-party material.
We do not claim ownership of patterns produced from your User Content. The arrangement produced by the App may be similar to arrangements produced for others because procedural layout methods and common settings are used.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights;
- create, upload or distribute unlawful, harmful, deceptive or abusive material;
- probe, disrupt, overload, bypass limits or interfere with the Service or another user's access;
- reverse engineer or attempt to obtain private source code, credentials or internal systems, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- use automated requests, scraping or other means outside the normal App interface; or
- misrepresent an affiliation with MotifMix or Canva.
5. Availability, limits and changes
The Service is currently offered with free usage limits, including limits on generations, simultaneous jobs, input sources and output elements. Current limits are displayed by the App or explained on the Support page. Limits may be adjusted to protect reliability, prevent abuse or reflect infrastructure capacity.
We may add, remove or modify features and may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, security or operational reasons. We do not guarantee that every image combination, requested density or design type will produce a usable pattern.
6. Our ownership
The App, website, branding, software, layout engine, documentation and other materials we provide are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service, no rights are transferred to you.
Feedback is voluntary. If you provide suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
7. Canva and third-party services
MotifMix runs within Canva and relies on Canva and infrastructure providers to deliver its features. Your use of Canva and Canva content remains governed by the terms and licences applicable to your Canva account. MotifMix is an independent application and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Canva Pty Ltd.
Third-party services may change, become unavailable or impose their own restrictions. We are not responsible for third-party products or services outside our reasonable control.
8. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
You are responsible for reviewing generated layouts before production, printing, manufacturing or publication. Preview colours, spacing, clipping and output may differ across devices, exports, printers and production methods.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity arising from the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability relating to the Service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or EUR 25. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Ending or suspending use
You may stop using or uninstall the App at any time. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, legal requirements, material breach of these terms or threats to service availability.
Stopping use does not automatically erase operational records that are still within the retention periods described in the Privacy Policy. You may request deletion through the Support page.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Poland, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes. If you are a consumer, you continue to benefit from mandatory protections and forums available under the law of your place of residence.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the Service, legal requirements or our practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel where required by law. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms, to the extent permitted by law.
